NDUS/UND Information Technology Facility

Grand Forks, ND

The Information Technology Facility serves as a home for the partnership between the North Dakota University System and the University of North Dakota. The project included the design and construction of a new building on the UND campus. The building was designed to allow for flexibility of the current needs of the users, as well as flexibility for the future. The building brought together various departments throughout the University of North Dakota and other North Dakota campuses to allow for more collaboration. Office and support spaces were designed for 100 employees, but modular furniture systems that can be reconfigured allow for accommodation of up to 150 employees. Other office spaces included meeting rooms and flexible conference/training rooms.

• Underground cable raceways within concrete floor to allow for flexibility of electrical & data requirements for the modular furniture
• Modular furniture throughout the building to accommodate different work requirements, current, and future
• Geothermal heating and cooling systems
• Designed to allow for future additions to the north and west
• Two story floor-to-ceiling windows allow for views of the exterior and allow for natural lighting throughout the workspaces
• Two-story lobby space with an open staircase
