The McKenzie County Law Enforcement Center addressed the need for more prisoner cells and consolidated the many county and state agencies that serve the growing population of the region. The 94,000 s.f. combined law enforcement center serves several county and state agencies including the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Department, the Watford City Police, North Dakota Highway Patrol, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The building houses both long and short-term prisoners with a capacity of 135 beds.
